It’s never easy to restart an exercise routine once you stop. You really have to start from the beginning with all the soreness and tiredness, and you have to force yourself to get out there every day. It can be a challenge, to say the least. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bother exercising once you’ve taken a sabbatical. Far from it. It can sometimes be difficult to get going again, but you’ll be glad you did. Here are some quick tips.
If you thought your return to the exercise world would be easy because you’ve done it before, you may be surprised to find that you’ve lost some of the capacity you had before.
But don’t let that worry you.
You’ll quickly gain it back again. In the meantime, though, it’s wise to start your exercise program slowly. You really don’t want to find out that you’ve injured yourself on a pilates machine such as a pilates performer just when you found your groove again. Take it easy at first.
It’s not easy to get back to exercising. If you commit to do it every day, you’ll generally have an easier time of it. This is partly because when you only exercise 3 days a week or something like that, you get tempted to postpone your exercise to the end of the week.
And then you sometimes miss days or totally get off schedule.
Doing it every day seems like a lot, but really, even 5 to 10 minutes of stretching can count. Just do something every day.
If you get tired of the same old exercise routines, then it’s definitely time to try something new. If you’re bored or don’t enjoy what you’re doing, it’s not likely that you’ll continue exercising. Who cares that the stair stepper burns a lot of calories. Choose something you like, and it’s more likely you’ll stick with it.
