A new year is among us and many have probably set their New Year Weight Loss resolutions. Some have probably already set them and forgot them. Some may have tried but already failed. This year can be different here are a few weight loss tips to setting your New Year’s Resolution to lose weight this year and forever!
Make a Specific Set of Goals
It is important that you make goals that are achievable not just in the long term but in the short term as well. Of course you will want to calculate your healthy weight and focus on that as a long term end goal but if you have a lot of weight to lose this may seem daunting and overwhelming leaving you to forget your new year resolution before it starts. Set some smaller goals as well and write them down on a piece of paper.
Start with 5% of your weight loss, or set small 5 pound increments of weight loss, maybe a dress size or a goal to workout a certain number of weeks. Brainstorm and list anything that will help you achieve your large end goal. As you accomplish this goal check or cross the goals off your list and keep it visible so you can see your progress.
Tracking is Everything
Keeping track of what you are eating and how much you are exercising is important for achieving your New Year’s resolutions. Like the goal setting above putting things down on paper somehow make them more important and give you a visual for what you are doing. You will likely make less slips when you have to write down everything you are doing. It will hold you accountable and it will motivate you as you see your progress.
Who knows some day that journal may become your weight loss success novel!
